MICHAEL TOTTEN is a photographer and director of photography whose work focuses on memory and identity. For over two decades, he has crafted images in commercial, narrative and documentary film, and his practice examines the construction and interpretation of experience, traversing the tangible space between reality and imagination. His lens is drawn to the tension between stillness and motion, the quality of an image which evokes an overarching, often invisible story, beyond the captured frame. Based in Los Angeles, he holds a BFA in Photography and Fine Art from Art Center College of Design.
